Thoughts on visual storytelling

I’m not sure if a picture is worth a thousand words, because I know your imagination can picture way more detail between the words I write than even a picture can convey. But the idea of visual storytelling takes such talent and skill that I’ve always admired it from even before my days in film school. Telling a story without any dialogue can be a magical experience.

Karl Kim, a long-time friend since our days in film school, has recently been focusing his creative skills on animated storytelling. With Karl’s permission, I’d like to share his latest piece 60 Years Since: Taken and Found, an animated short film which demonstrates his talent and the impact of visual storytelling without any dialogue.
